Dr. Brenda Wade
Psychologist, Television Host, Author, Seminar Leader, Keynote Speaker, and Producer“One of the most renowned psychologists in America,” Dr. Brenda Wade is best known for her dynamic, love-centered approach to transformation. She has earned numerous awards as psychologist, author, television host, producer, keynote speaker and workshop leader.
Television Producer, Host, and Guest Expert
Dr. Wade is the NBC Today Show’s Family – Relationship Expert, and regularly appears on shows such as Oprah and Good Morning America. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Wade hosts Black Renaissance on the CW network, and is regularly interviewed by multiple news channels on various health issues.
Dr. Wade is both producer and host of the PBS television pledge special Power Choices. She also hosted the nationally-syndicated television program “Can This Marriage Be Saved?” The program was based on the column of the same name which has run in the Ladies Home Journal magazine for over 40 years. The San Francisco Chronicle described Dr. Wade’s demeanor on the program as “…always knowledgeable, selectively tough or sympathetic.” The Boston Globe stated Dr. Wade’s manner on the show mixed with “the magic of television, encouraged [people] to respond…,” and that the show had an “odd integrity”, not often viewed in a TV talk/relationship program.

Dr. Wade’s most recent book Power Choices: 7 Milestones on Your Journey to Wholeness, Love, Joy and Peace demonstrates the power of bringing together psychology and spirituality to transform lives.
Dr. Wade co-authored with Brenda Richardson, What Mama Couldn’t Tell Us About Love, which focuses on healing the wounds and celebrating the strengths of African American Women. Dr. Wade’s first book, also co-authored with Brenda Richardson, Love Lessons: A Guide to Transforming Relationships, leads couples in trouble through a step by step healing program based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Dr. Wade is a regular contributor for Essence Magazine. In addition, she has contributed recently to such publications as Forbes, Ebony Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, Jet Magazine, Heart & Soul, and Match.com.

Dr. Wade consulted in Child Development for MCA, and along with Linda Ellerbee and Pat Schroeder, Dr. Wade presented at the Disney Television Think-a-Thon answering the question "Who is the American family?".
As a trainer and management consultant, she works with various organizations and businesses and leads retreats and seminars around the world.
Dr. Wade is past Chair of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and serves on the boards of various community organizations. She has received multiple awards for her work with persons living with HIV and AIDS and service to Families & Children.
Trainings
Driven by her compassion and desire that all people receive the transformational tools they need to lead their most abundant lives, Dr. Wade has developed the Power Coaches Program to both train and provide coaching services internationally. Participants are trained in Dr. Wade’s unique style of coaching that immediately transforms peoples’ lives – moving them to healthier and happier states of being. Graduates are then able to bring back these tools and share them with their communities.

Dr. Brenda Wade, a clinical psychologist in San Francisco, California, specializes in couples and family therapy, with a private practice that reaches internationally. A protégé of the world-renowned author and therapist Dr. Virginia Satir, her approach is both humanistic and practical.
A graduate of the University of Puget Sound, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Wade completed her Ph.D. in Developmental and Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington. Dr. Wade is former Adjunct Professor of John F. Kennedy University, San Francisco State University, and Antioch University West.
